Institute of Credit Management (UK)
The Institute of Credit Management (ICM) is the largest professional credit management organisation in Europe. Its membership of 8,500 represents the credit profession across trade, consumer and export credit, as well as in related activities such as collections, credit reporting, credit insurance and insolvency. The Institute sets the UK’s professional standards in credit management, and seeks to increase awareness of its crucial role in improving marketing, profitability and cash flow.

Founded in 1939, the ICM is the centre of expertise in the UK for all matters relating to credit management. The ICM offers a range of services including:

• a specialist recruitment consultancy
• comprehensive qualifications for people working in credit management, and tests and assesses those who wish to become members
• specialist training, conferences and seminars
• the industry leading Credit Management magazine and email briefings
• a bookshop
• a helpline on credit related matters
• a network of 26 local branches.

It also consults with and makes recommendations to the Government, European Commission, other professional bodies and trade associations
